I know there is a thread about fetch not working, but push isn't either.

THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND ONE THAT APPLE IS AWARE OF

I am talking to a apple guy now on the help live chat and have tried everything.

It is a common problem and the guy from the live chat told me it IS A 2.1 FIRMWARE ISSUE.

I suggest you all PLEASE go to the link below and tell them as im sure the more complaints the more they'll move their butts.

http://www.apple.com/support/mobileme/mailchat/

Just click on the chat icon.

Also to let people know my ical events are syncing fine. Just push is gone AGAIN.

The guy told me a tech guy would email me.

Here is something the mac help chat guy said

"DillonS: I'm sure it has to do with the update. Might have to contact iPhone or wait for a patch to download."

im turning fetch every 15mins back on.
This thing worked for 5 mins now it not again.

COME ON APPLE ITS BEEN MONTHS OF THIS CRAP.

For anyone still having problems, i suggest setting fetch data to 15 minutes, it's better than nothing.

There are loads of posts on apples site i just noticed of people with same issue.

Makes me not want to update in future. It took two weeks before my push started to work and now its gone after 1 week of working.

it actually works every now and then, like 20 mins ago i emailed myself and it worked, but now it wont push again.

Just so you know, it's not just through MobleMe. I've been synced with google through nuevasync since I got my phone and it's been flawless. As soon as I updated to 2.1 it's been total crap. Sometimes it syncs, most of the time it doesn't. Sometimes if syncs some of my events and leaves others out. I knew I shouldn't have updated since my phone at 2.0.2 was flawless. I didn't have any of the other problems most people were describing. Now my phone seems sluggish and non-responsive. Hope this gets fixed quick.

I wonder if this is somehow a 3G iPhone issue only.

I have a 2G with Exchange and a Gmail checking every 15 minutes. Haven't had any issues yet.

There are no problems for me with setting it to fetch mail every 15 minutes, however fetch is NOT PUSH.

Just to let people know your push MAY seem like it's working but there is a good chance it is not.

Last night till around 10 am this morning push started working again, for the last two hours its gone AGAIN, i know because i emailed myself 5 emails and they show on my mac mail (i left them as unread) but not on the iphone.

If anyone needs reliability you have to use fetch.

I have 40 days left on my mobileme and i think when it comes to deciding if i want to keep it i will have to take push out of the equation as it never works for more than a week without some sort of issues.

I realize there is a good chance where i got a emailed PUSHED to my phone long after it was sent.

Since i started doing regular checks of the mail i realized mobileme was pushing around 70% of emails right away but not all.

THANK YOU APPLE FOR THE FIRMWARE UPDATE, THAT STOPED MY PHONE WORKING PERFECT LIKE IT DID BEFORE.

i just poped onto the apple forums and it seems a few others had their push working last night but not this morning, much like myself.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F136 Safari/525.20)

I had problems with push not working throughout August but I think that had something to do with MobileMe and not the iPhone. I have not had an outage since updating to 2.1 but it has only been 4 days so who knows if it will happen again.

Yea i doubt it's the iphone but maybe the new firmware caused the push to stop working because it changed something.

Apple told me push not working again is because of the firmware change.

I have sent a very harsh letter to both apples customer service and the tech guys. Will post reply.

The fix for me was easy. Just remove the account and add it again. This will probably reset something and push wil work again :)

Re-adding you account after deleting it only fixes it for the first few minutes. After an hour or two it goes back to the way it was.

UPDATE:

My fetch data has ALSO STOPPED WORKING.

UPDATE:

This is turning into a VERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE.

I finally get a email from mobile me tech support saying the issue has been resolved and that i should enjoy the service.

THE ISSUE HAS NOT ONLY BEEN UNRESOLVED ITS GOTTEN WORSE, NOW FETCH DOESNT WORK EITHER.

AAAAAARGH.

USELESS *^$*@^@&$
