Hello, I've got a Mac pro that is probably about 5 years old running the media at our church. Currently it is running tow sets of displays. One is an apple monitor, the other is a projector that splits the signal to three other screens. We have the need for this feed to also be on some other tvs in a different section of the building.

I'd like to put another video card in. What should I be looking for? We're using zevee boxes to send the data to the other tvs, so I'll need something with a VGA out. Something that also had dvi out would be good too. Any ideas? What should I be looking for?

the 5770 would be a good card. Its not to expensive and is supported on all Mac Pro's. Doesn't sound like you are doing any extreme video use so it should be enough for your needs.

The card does dvi out and you can get a mini display port adaptor for the older apple monitor.

Thanks for the lead. Is this the one you are talking about?

If this is indeed what I am looking for, I have just a few more questions. Can I keep my current video card in the computer and just use this new oen to expand my video output capabilities? Also, this says that it has three outs on it (a dvi and 2 mini display ports). Assuming I get the correct adapters, would this card alone drive three separate video screens at three different resolutions? In theory, after adding this to my current setup, I'd be driving 5 screens?

Sorry for the noob questions, this isn't a world I delve into often.

Anyone have any additional input? I need to order up ASAP. I'd love to keep my current card and just use this to expand my capabilities. I guess I'd have to move the stock card to a different slot. Would that create any problems? Any other cards I should be looking for?
