With the reviews saying 13GM is a mess, it's sounding like the right move to to just put 13.1 beta on 11 and 11 Pro right away if it's available that day.

Isn't upgrading from a beta different that a regular update? Or is it the same (all settings remain the same, etc)

If you update a messy 13 on the 19th, it shouldn't be long before this 13.1 come out. After all, they are trying to do that. That's the whole point of it the parallel thing.

I will wait for the official 13.0 release and update on launch day (2 days from today). If it's laggy and buggy like the Public Beta 1 that i tested for a day before i went back to iOS 12 because i couldn't deal with that mess, i will install the 13.1 Public Beta straight away. Hopefully that one patches some stuff.

Been using the 13 GM on two devices since the 10th and have had zero problems. I'd ignore the "reviews". People just complain for the sake of complaining. It's actually a massive improvement over 12, just the swipe keyboard and dark mode alone is worth it. I've experienced no battery drains, no overheating, no instability whatsoever. On an iPhone 7 and an iPhone SE.

I was about to start a thread and saw this so I’m posting here. What is the general consensus, wait for 13 or use 13.1 beta right now? Is the current beta any better or worse than 13.0 is?

Consensus seems to be 13GM is more buggy than the current 13.1 beta... as long as they release a 13.1 beta for 11 I will upgrade straight to that.
