When your iPad is connect to your computer, click on the iPad (left column in iTunes).,
Then click on the Books tab the goes horizontally across the screen. Choose sync all books, or select books, etc.

I assume they're epub format? If they are, you either sync them or drag them across to the iPad in the iTunes source list.

How do I put an epub book from my pc (not a mac) onto my iPad?

Hi, Does anyone know how to get an epub book I purchased from Angus & Robertson in Australia from my pc (not a mac) to my new iPad? I cannot download the app directly to the iPad as it says "Safari cannot download" so I downloaded the book via my pc. However, it doesn't show up in iTunes so i can't sync it to my iPad. Any suggestions, please?

Did you try dragging the epub file into iTunes? If that didn't work, then the book you bought could be protected by DRM. iTunes/iBooks only works with third-party epub books if they are non-DRM.

Couple of ways

1. Get the app dropbox and the desktop application. ONce it is set up, you can just drag and drop the pdf file to dropbox and it will auto-sync. I usually then open it either in good reader app or Iannotate app.

2. Use calibre to convert the file to epub then drag and drop to Itunes. It will then be available in Ibooks.

3. You can email the pdf to yourself and open in Ipad.
