Just jb my ATV2 iOS 5.0.2 and now trying to install XBMC but each time I try with putty it's refusing the password. I can log in fine with winSCP but that keeps timing out half way thru

Anyone have any ideas?

When using putty there is a field that says username , leave it blank . Just type your atv ip address & hit connect .

When you see the command prompt then type root for the user & alpine for the password .

If you attempt to input the username into putty before hitting the connect button you will get a password error .

There's no username field on my version of putty.

Simply enter the ip address of your ATV make sure the port is set to 22 and that connection type is set to SSH. Press open and a terminal window should open, type root as your login and the password is alpine. The first time you try to connect you may get a security message pop up, just press yes.
