Does anyone know of a good progressive web app (PWA) calculator I could install on my iPad via Safari?

I'd rather not get one from the App Store. Many of them have ads or in-app purchases. A lot of them are 20+MB in size, some are even 100+MB. Storage space isn't a concern, it just seems a bit excessive for a calculator app. Who knows what else they could be doing. (For comparison, macOS's calculator is 2MB.)

What's the story on why there isn't a built in calculator app on the iPad? I'm really surprised that they're not at least allowing the iPhone version of the calculator on the iPad. Wasn't that pre-installed before in earlier versions of iOS? I seem to remember using the calculator plenty when I had the original iPad.

This is one of those omissions that's so nonsensical that there has to be an interesting story behind it.

Thanks! This looks perfect. I knew there had to be web-based Apple clone out there somewhere.

Here are a couple others I found in case someone wants a larger one that fills the whole screen when in full screen mode (can also be shrunk down if using Stage Manager & floating windows).

I don't think it was ever on the iPad. I think the story is that Apple doesn't like how it looks on there. When the iPad came out, Apple (Jobs/Forstall) was very into skeuomorphism at the time, and a large 10" calculator just didn't look real or that great. Same with the weather app back then, it wasn't built in a way to scale up on the iPad and still look good. But yeah, I don't see why they can't put it on there anyway, especially now that we can have floating windows and it could be sized appropriately.

This video is a few years old, but Federighi talks about it here:

PCalc is a great calculator for iPad and is not ad supported. James Thomson is the developer and he has a good reputation for not doing shady things like some apps do.
