I am with at&t and have an official contract with them. is pwnage a bit overkill for just jailbreaking? would you guys recommend it over the other methods (Ziphone, iPlus, iLiberty, etc)? also, It doesnt do any to the baseband or bootloader that is irreversible, right?

My understanding is that it doesn't touch the bootloader at all if you leave all the boxes unchecked (as demonstrated in the FAQ).

That's what i'm hoping, anyway, because i'm in the same situation. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

Nope you're exactly right, I just Pwned my phone and only Jailbroke it.

Just keep everything unchecked when you make the Custom IPSW (Unless you want the Devteam images check the bottom option) and it only Jailbreaks and adds Installer.app.

It completely leaves the bootloader alone.
