Pwnage Question

I'm new to jailbreaking.

I would like to jailbreak my iPhone for the first time.

I would do the simple version.

I have a few questions...

1. If I install Pwnage Tool, will I still be able to sync with iTunes?
2. If I install Pwnage Tool, will it erase everything on my iPhone?
3. If I install Pwnage Tool, will I be able to get it off easily and HOW?


Please answer if possible, and please don't mirror me to other posts that are useless

1. yes. nothing changes there
2. PT makes a custom ipsw file that you restore your iphone with. so yes, but you can restore from a prior backup or do a fresh install.
3. you can always restore back to factory install using itunes.

If I want to restore back to factory settings, all I do is click restore??

I'll try to answer your questions best I can. I unlocked my phone a few months ago and was surprised how easy it was.

1) Yes, it is seamless.
2) Yes, but you will do a restore that will put everything back on.
3) Yes, restore phone in iTunes and it's back to stock.

Does Pwnage Tool include Cydia because all I want to do is jailbreak it, not unlock it. ?

Yes, it asks if you want to install Cydia and/or Icy.

Also, I was reading something about baseband configuration, does Pwnage Tool automatically do all that in simple mode because I'm not into the expert mode.

Icy is an alternative to Cydia. It's just another package manager.

Pwnage Tool does in all. I don't know what simple/expert mode is, I don't remember seeing that when I ran it.

I suppose there is a small chance of bricking any phone. From what I've read this is pretty easy, if you have problems with it you just restore in iTunes and your back to square one.

I would reccomend using Expert mode just to simply NOT install Icy.

And the chances of bricking it are so slim you might as well call it impossible. Infact, I don't think it is possible.

I've never been able to deselect Icy, even in expert mode (I either have to install both Cydia and Icy or install neither). Anyway, it's not a big deal to me since I know I can just delete Icy via SSH if I want to.
