I have a question. I followed the instructions to unlock with Pwnage and I was successful. I plan on selling this phone and want all my data to be completely cleared. Is it safe to ship it out this way?

I am now at a point where when I plug in the phone I get the option to set up as a new phone or restore. If I don't select one can I ship it out like this and have it work for the buyer (accept his playlists, contacts, what-not) and also can I be sure my data wont somehow resurface?

Or was i supposed to restore the phone completely before I Pwned it?

Regardless when the new user plugs it into their computer it will force them to resync with the new pc. Just restore it with your custom firmware and you should be fine.

Settings > General > Reset > "Erase All Content and Settings"

That will take care of it.

When they resync will the jailbreak and unlocking be erased?

No, not unless they hit restore. Which you should state in your auction, and in an email to the winner and put it in writing and include it with the phone. That way you are protected, if they do anything and then want their money back.

Thanks for your help.

Here's my auction:

Should I edit the auction? I think the "No returns, refunds, exchanges; sales are final" basically sums up what you suggested. However, you're making me second-guess myself. Should I just tell the auction winner that after the auction ends?

You can put no refunds sure why not. But still make sure to do the rest. Because if someone gets your phone, effs it up by restoring it they can then claim it's not working as described in the auction and file a chargeback. But this is only in extreme cases. And unless the person is unreasonable you would probably be able to help them via email or phone.
