I need some help on this. Had a OTB 1.0.2 iPhone which I upgraded to 1.1.4 and unlocked using iPlus. I got the 1.2 firmware. So am thinking how to switch over to the new firmware and is it safe???

I was thinking this, but all reports ive read say 2.0 (what 1.2 will be) is slow and unstable at the moment.. its still in beta after all, im going to wait.

Installer.app is currently not compatible with 1.2/2.0 either.

The beta firmwares are built for developer use, and even if you find one build or another that is the "most stable" its still going to be unfinished and crash a lot. Everyone from individual users to the Dev Team is recommending that you not use these versions because they are not finished. Iffy jailbreak/unlock methods + unfinished firmware? I think you get the picture. These versions hold no value for non-developers anyway.

A few things: The firmware is unstable, many things dont work, and from what I hear, once a newer build comes out, your phone will be put into "expire mode" which will make it an ipod until either you downgrade to 1.1.4 or until you upgrade to the newest build of 1.2...
