Quad Conroe vs. Quad Woodcrest?

I love new technology and my new MacPro is sending tomorrow FINALLY! However, I think Conroe will be releasing there quad versions in MacPro(my guess next year) but when and how much faster will it be than Quad Woodcrest? Should i return the Woodcrest MacPro and wait for the Quad Conroe MacPro or will the 2 chips be comparible??
I know new advancements will always be coming but i want to make the right purchase in the right moment so i dont have to worry about purchasing another computer again for awhile, because Intel and AMD are in their battle for the fastes technology FINALLY! any help i appreciate THANKS!

I guess it's really urgent as you posted twice.

My reaction is "woah dude!" you got a great machine, and when there is an advancement (likely to stay in the Xeon family) just drop the chip replacement in.

Conroe is not going to be on a Mac Pro, ever. All we are going to see is Xeon and even if they did put a Quad Core Conroe system in there... it would still be slightly slower than Quad Woodcrest.

Just like the difference between Merom and Conroe, the difference between Woodcrest and Conroe is just the FSB and features (like FB-DIMMs and Multiproc) so there.
