So, now that a few people have their quad core imacs at home in front of them. How have they been running??

Any signs of problems that were associated with the C2D iMacs eg

Unusually Long Start Up Times
Screen Flicker / Black outs
Noisy whine from Screens / HDD's
Sleep / Wake Up Issues
CD Drives Scratching Disks

Any other problems? (Apart from the small number of DOA imac's.

Just so I know what to look for when I get delivery of the i7 (eventually)

Cheers!!

Everything is great here. Before I decided to do a fresh install my screen blacked out two times within the first few hours of turning it on. After I re-installed it has been flawless for 3 days straight.

All those issues you listed (excluding disk scratches) should be fixed with a clean install of OS X. I had some of those issues when I upgraded to 10.6 but after I did a clean install, those issues are gone

I'm one of the folks that are buying an i7 , but have been holding out to see if there are any problems in the field. I haven't heard of anything significant yet, although it's only been a couple of days. But so far, things are looking good!

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I don't want to install all my apps and migrate data though to find theres a niggle that could be solved, as mentioned by Hellhammer, by a re-install that could be the first thing I do with the machine....

Anyway, we'll see what happens when it arrives. :)

I had MAJOR issues with the C2D. Returned it (no hassle). Bought a Quad i5 yesterday. No issues so far......
