I ordered a 2012 i7 refurb quad from Apple yesterday at about 2.30 pm in London and it was delivered at 10 am this morning. Apple really does do great service - the delivery also included an iPad with engraving for a gift.

One question (I think the answer is no) - can I use the 2 x 4GB memory in my 2009 Mini in the 2012 model?

No, 2009 MM is using different modules, you could use them only in 2010 models.
MM 2012 have PC3-12800 and they will run in MM2011 even though they using slower PC3-10600

Yes. I took a 4g DIMM from a 2009 and stuck it in the 2012 along with an 8gb DIMM I got from elsewhere. Works a treat but at lowest memory speed but who cares!
