No, Apple hasn't said anything about the speakers being improved.

I always found the iPP speakers to be awesome myself. I don’t see a reason for an upgrade at this point.

Completely agree! Whilst there is always room for improvement my iPad Pro 12.9 2018 frankly amazes me each time.

What's your current iPad? Also, Apple's audio engineers are really good but you're limited by physics, size and mass at some point. A 16" MBP has more room to work with than a ~6mm iPad Pro.
