Quake 4 resolution out of range

I was playing quake 4 and tweaked the resolution settings a little, but now my monitor complains that it is out of range and i cant see the game so i cant change it back. I had this happen with Portal in widows once, but that one i knew how to fix. I looked at the files in the app but nothing looked like it could change the resolution. What can i do?

Im on leo 10.5.2 btw

just delete the preference files for quake, this will restore the game to its default settings.
