Ok so I got GameRanger a while ago, and noticed a lot of people on Quake III arena Demo. So I downloaded it, but when I joined a game on GameRanger, it brought me to the main screen. When I clicked multiplayer and then internet, it said "Master Server Offline". Any ideas?

Evan, you said in another post that you're using an Intel iMac. The only version of the Quake III Demo for Mac that I'm aware of is a Classic app, and thus doesn't run on Intel Macs at all.

Are you using an unofficial version from somewhere?

Scott.

Well I actually was on my eMac when I tried this, I didn't use my Intel Mac.

Ahh okay. Well I tried, but was unable to reproduce your problem. It worked just fine for me.

The only thing I can think of is some kind of permissions problem (or a read-only volume).

GameRanger needs to create a file "MacQuake3Parms.txt" in the same folder as the Q3A Demo app. Although from memory, it should simply fail to launch the game if that file could not be created.

Scott.

Could you send me your link? I remember it took me a long time to find it. Maybe I didn't get a very good link.

I don't have the original link anymore, but I still have the installer itself, which I've uploaded. I'll PM you a link.

I doubt it will help your problem, but it can't hurt to try.

Scott.
