I'd read on here that Apple has quality control problems. Received my new 21.5" iMac and there's a hair trapped behind the screen. Very visible on a plain background. Am currently on hold to Apple while they decide what to do.

Not happy when I paid a premium price for a premium product.

Just because you've read something on here, don't believe it's always the fact. Don't forget this is MacRumors! ;)

tHE GLASS COMES OFF, AND IT IS HELD ON BY MAGNETS. jUST USE A SUCTION CUP TO REMOVE GLASS CAREFULLY, AND YOU CAN REMOVE THE HAIR.

Or, you can take it to Apple and let a bunch of strangers rush (sorry, do) it, who have no care for your machine. However, if you are going to remove the hair, from one of the under-paid workers in China; sorry, remove a problem ("That the user caused:" Apple 'genius'), outside, where there's no dust; also, this time of year is good for taking the iMac's screen off, as there aren't many flies, but be-careful of spontaneous rain showers.

If you are still within the 14 day return window, just return it or take it back to your nearest Apple Store if you have one.

There's good news and there's bad.

Apple agreed to replace the machine (with no argument) and it arrived today, 24 hours after the first one. Excellent service.

Except the replacement is even worse. Dust under the glass plus a whole load of dead pixels.

Once again they've agreed to replace it with no argument, but it really makes me wonder what's going on with Apple. When you pay a premium price, you do expect premium quality.

Were these new units or refurbs? Just curious.
