Having been a life long PC user I feel the urge to get a MacBook (and possibly matching iPod). I will probably get one of the cheap MacBooks but I am concerned about all this talk of overheating and humming.
The heat I can understand as they are using decent processors these days and the trade off for performance is heat. I am not actually gonna sit with it on my lap all the while there are tables about. What about the humming?
Would I be right in thinking when Apple launches a new line it ramps up production to meet demand and (for a while at least) it lets QA slip a bit? Then when the initial rush is over things get a bit more stable. As happened to the Xbox 360. How long would be good to wait before purchasing?
Cheers.
