Why is that when I follow the instructions I can't find/activate full-res preview in Quark 6.5?

As per Quark's 'Help Topics
In Quarkxpress>Preferences> I look for the 'Full Res Preview' pane --- but it's not there.

For entire layout View > Show Full Res Previews
'Show Full Res Previews' is not there, it's not even greyed out.

Select picture then Item > Preview Resolution > Full Resolution
'Preview Resolution' is not there, it's not even greyed out.

I'm not a complete noob just new to 6.0/6.5.

Hm. We bought the 6.1 with the 6.5 updater disc included a few weeks ago I installed and updated up to 6.5, should the capability be there? Or is there a 6.5.x version that I can download/ that Quark should have given me?
