Okay, so I have a late model 3.1.2, and from what I read i'm limited to a tethered jailbreak. I've been trying to follow the guides to backup my IBSS, IBEC, and ECID but it's been ultimate fail. My question is, if I jailbreak my 3.1.2, and never upgrade to 3.1.3, would I be able to restore it to a fresh 3.1.2? I'm asking this because I've restore back to factory settings (3.1.2) with my 3GS and had no problems.. but could that be because it wasn't jailbroken?

Oh yeah.. I tried reading all the guides.. but they talk about backing up the IBSS, IBEC, and ECID for 3.0..not for 3.1.2.. could someone help me out with this?

UPDATE: so i found some more information, I won't be able to get that shsd since apple stopped signing it as of feb. xx, 2010..sigh.. and without that I won't be able to restore back to 3.1.2... damn that sucks.
