I've searched the forum and didn't find anything on this.

I have a 8+ and for some reason it doesn't seem to be very loud from the top speaker/earpiece. When I cover the bottom speaker the music from the top sounds tinny. I've not had the phone a year yet but I thought when I first got it; the sounds were the same. No problems other wise with the phone.

Had the same problem with mine back in the day.
Defective speaker, Apple chnaged the front including the earpiece.

I had the same problem with an 8... Gave it for repair and they returned it fully functional. The resolution was that the the earpiece grid has been blocked with dirt... This was a year ago and now it seems that I am beginning to have the same issue again. Otherwise the phone is perfect!

Is this happening on phone calls too? Cause 8 plus speaker is a stereo, so if the sound you listen to has a weak sound on the left, (assuming the orientation you set on your speaker settings is that left is the earpiece, right is the bottom speaker) could be that — also you could try to set the speakers to MONO and if the sounds is low. Try to change the balance of the speaker too and put more sounds towards the earpiece speaker
