question about a used mac pro

so I've been looking for a mac pro and i came across this one on craigslist .. guy said he would take 1k cash .. its obviously probably a scam ..

he says its a 2009

MacPro tower 2.8Ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon processer • 6GB RAM • OS X 10.7 Lion

1TB storage (Two 500GB drives) + DVD/CD writer
New in box, wireless bluetooth keyboard and magic mouse (this alone is worth $140 retail)
Firewire 400 + 800 and USB ports on FRONT and BACK --
2 ethernet ports plus Airport wireless card built in
ATI Radeon HD 2600 video card that can run 2 monitors -

i didn't think a 2.8 quad was available in 2009 ? or is it ? I've asked him for the serial number so i can check with apple cuz he says its mint and has the box and everything .. still waiting on a reply ..

Its a shame, but still quite a nice machine! I would personally go for it! Then again if you wait you can get a bargain! I bought an 8Core 2.26Ghz '09 for UK £ 1000 = 1574 US$


It took a while but i was glad i waited!

Yea but it doesn't give me the option to upgrade the CPU and its still on ddr2 ram

Not an '09, they don't have FW400 ports. 3 USB/2 FW800 in back, 2 USB/2 FW800 in front. FW400 went away with the '09 models.
