I recently purchased a pair of AirPods Pro due to the noise cancellation features more than any other thing. Today in preparation for the Arrival of the new AirPods Pro my team began training themselves on the technology by watching a lot of YouTube Videos and in a lot of those videos they noticed that the person was using a newer iPhone that is capable of running iOS 13. My existing iPhone is the iPhone 6 plus and after doing some googling and some calling to apple my team is confused greatly on compatibility. According to google the AirPods Pro are 100% incompatible with iPhone 6 plus, when they called Apple today, they were told that AirPods Pro are compatible with iPhone 6 Plus and the only thing that will not work is "transparency mode" which while a convenience feature is still something that would be nice to have for me. If we rewind the clock to when the order was placed over the phone the person responsible for placing the order for me said in no uncertain terms "She has an iPhone 6 Plus and wants to use it with new AirPods Pro..." and the sales person did not tell her otherwise that "yes they'll work* with iPhone 6 plus (*Transparency mode available on devices running iOS 13 or newer)"

The AirPods are set to arrive this Thursday but before they do I need to get a definitive answer will the AirPods Pro 100% work with the iPhone 6 Plus fully or did we just buy a $250.00 piece of tech that one of its main features will not work because of my outdated iPhone? If only some of the features will work, which features will not work? if the AirPods Pro will outright not work, I need to know so I can have a contingency plan. If it comes down to a contingency plan; can someone here help me come up with a contingency plan to either get the features outright as advertised (via work-aroounds in software, etc.) or by suggesting what I can do should it all fail (e.g. offering a replacement sat of headphones with equivalent features that are guaranteed to work with mu current and future devices that would be a straight swap across since I cannot make full use of the AirPodsPro, helping me and my team navigate a refund or exchange from apple, etc.)

The advertised compatibility list for iPhone and the pro starts at the 6s and SE (with audio sharing missing on those devices).

The 6 isn’t in that list (at all) so I would guess it would work like non Apple devices do and within the limits of the older Bluetooth on the final iOS issued for the 6.

Thank you so very much! I will go ahead and initiate a return and get a refund I was sold a product on inaccurate and miss leading information.
