Other Question about Apple Upgrade Program

Hi all,

I've never used the iPhone Upgrade Program but I am interested in signing up.

My question is:

If I sign up lets say tomorrow, will I be able to upgrade to the next iPhone on release day, or will I have to wait 12 months?

I can't seem to find this answer in any of the FAQs on Apple's page.

If you've paid for 9 months on the Upgrade program at the time of the new iPhone release, you can pay the final 3 months of the 12 required in a lump sum in order to be eligible.

You must have made 12 payments before you are upgrade eligible. That’s 12 payments, not 12 months. As E3BK said, you can choose to upgrade early if you make the payments necessary to get to 12.
