I have a quick question about return policy. I bought a MBP about a week ago and got it in the Mail Thursday. I like it alot but it has a few issues I dpn't mind the processor whine at all but the heat bothers me a bit. The biggest thing is that it has started to get this whitish strip at the bottom of the screen. So I kinda wanna return it and wait ahile for them to fix a few things. Is it true that I'm gonna have to pay a 15% restocking fee? and alot of people have told me if I wanted it repaired I would have to take it too a apple store but, I don't have a local one thats why I ordered online. I appreciate any help on this.
 
If you want to return it, they'll charge you either a 10% or 15% restocking fee because it has been opened.

If you want it repaired, you can simply call Apple and they'll send you a box to package it in and pay for all shipping costs. You do not have to take it to a store to be repaired.
 
Normally they charge you a restocking fee, as the person above stated, but I found that with my Intel iMac they were willing to wave that and just give me a full refund. I don't know if you'll be so lucky, but I would recommend trying for a repair first, and then seeing if you can squeeze a refund out of them.
 
The Apple Store was not quite so kind to me. I bought the 17", got it home, and found that it was not enough- so I took it right back and tried to exchange- not return, but exchange!- it for the 20". They would not budge an inch on the restocking fee.

So I did return it anyway, and my Credit card company got me the restocking fee back.

If a computer does not act properly, or as described when sold, I would have no qualms about doing the same thing again. If Apple does not do the right thing- back up their product, or stand behind it (in your case), I would recommend the same!
