I don't hear many people talking about this as an advantage for the 3G model but how exactly will it work? I am assuming it will only allow you to connect to AT&T wifi hotspots during an activated month, is this correct?

$14.99 for 250MB of 3G and unlimited AT&T wifi is actually a pretty smoking deal. I travel a lot and run into a ton of AT&T hot spots.

I'm also assuming that if you have an iPhone 3G, you can't port your free wifi use over, is that correct?

I do not believe that your iPhone account will allow you to have free AT&T wifi for iPad. You will have it when your purchase either of the 2 data plans for the 3G when it is out.

Another very good option is buying a Starbucks prepaid card and registering it online. This will also give you up to 2 hours of free wifi daily at any of the AT&T wifi hot spots. An you dont even have to keep much money on the Starbucks card. A small amount like $5 should do the trick.
