Question about ATV2 and iTunes

I've been wondering about content purchased through iTunes, specifically TV shows. Will I forever be able to access my purchased shows via my Apple TV, or will content expire like it does on Netflix? I have some shows that I've purchased but I'm leary of buying more because of my uncertainty on this issue.

Purchased content does not expire.

Purchased content won't expire if you download it and store it in iTUnes, locally, but it may eventually no longer be available in the iTunes Store, which might make it unavailable if you rely on getting it from Apple each time and playing it from the Purchased menu.
