I want to jailbreak my iphone 5 and I wouldn't normally be worried about doing this but if I have to restore my phone I'd lose all the music info I have on each song. By this I mean when I put songs on my phone I edited (had to manually btw) each one to be under an artist and genre. The music files are not like that on my computer. Is there a way I can save this in case I have to restore or did I just mess up?

I would assume you can back up this information. If you can locate the folder where this information is stored on the phone, you could use iFile or iFunBox to save a copy of this folder to your computer. I'm not sure where this information is stored though because I don't use the iPod feature on my phone. I can do some digging if you'd like but it should be pretty easy to find.

Ok thanks! I assume you have to jailbreak first. Where would I find this folder?

Yes you'd have to jailbreak. I can say for certain though that if this particular data you speak of can not be saved with iTunes or iCloud, then you have an extremely high chance that you will be able to save it after you jailbreak. I have no clue where this data resides. There are many knowledgeable people on this site. I'll do some looking for you on my phone but if a member already knows they'll just go ahead and post the answer.
