Question about buying macbook from amazon

quick question

Since amazon has the macbook white for 999 with a rebate , I found it to be the cheapest price available.

My question is, that because of the problems with some macbooks, and having to make returns/exchanges for new macbooks...will it be as easy for me to return my macbook to amazon in exchange for a new one if there is a problem?
Or would I return it directly to apple for a new one? Would apple give me a harder time because I bought via amazon instead of their store?

Has anyone else here purchased from amazon and made a return/exchange on their macbook due to any problems with it?

I do not own a Macbook, so I can't answer your last question.

I think if you buy Applecare along with your Macbook from Amazon or (preferably) Apple, they won't give you a hard time. I guess you could call and ask either amazon or Apple, but someone here will probably be able to give you something more solid than I just said.

Applecare is pretty universal though, I know other third-party vendors (such as Smalldog.com) sell Applecare and it's no different than if you bought from Apple- the computer is still fully covered.

I understand that If I bought applecare it would be the extended warranty, but what If I want to exchange for a new one based on the basic warranty that comes with the macbook , 90 days I think?

I bought my MacBook from Amazon for $999. It's one of the newest builds and I have no problems with it. You would go through Apple, not Amazon, for an exchange. Apple will treat it just as like you had bought it from them, they won't even mention Amazon.

That would be 1,099 plus tax right?
I dont think there is any tax at amazon for ny shipping.
I would like to get it for 999 and save the extra two hundred for 2 gigs of ram rather than a slight chip boost.

I'm talking about 999 US dollars....875 pounds equals something like 1600 bucks or so doesn't it?!
