Hey, I'm wanting to convert bytes into a megabyte or gigabyte etc..
I know there are 1024 bytes to a kilobyte, but is there a 1024 kilobytes to a megabyte or is it 1000?

Kind Regards

is it for a nerdy person or non-nerdy person?
the non-nerdy person would say it's 1000kb to a mb

I see thanks,
is it for a nerdy person or non-nerdy person?
the non-nerdy person would say it's 1000kb to a mb
I just want accuracy in displaying the size of a file.

Kind Regards

Hello!

If you read the "Unit multiples" section of the following article, you will see that there is a considerable amount of confusion about whether decimal or binary conversion is used. It depends completely on who is doing the conversion:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte

This is a well-known source of confusion for many people.
