Hi guys, I have a 2011 MBP running SL so i know that ML will work on my mac. My issue is with my external HDD - when Lion was released, I understand that there was a problem with many external HDD not being able to run on Lion - hence I didn't upgrade. The last thing I want to do is upgrade the OS and find that my time machine backup doesn't work. I've had a look on the iomega website and it says that the HDD works on OS 10.4 - 10.6 or higher, so I'm right in thinking it will work on ML?

I've also got a samsung printer, and on the samsung website is says that you need OS 10.3 - 10.6; so I'm guessing that's not going to work with ML.

Finally, will Office 2011 work on ML? I'm a broke student (spent all my money on apple products :/) so I'm trying to get away with not spending any money whilst keeping current on the OS.

Should I go for the upgrade and hope for the best? Or is it worth me investing in up-to-date peripherals. I added the links in for you lot to have a look as you're all probably much more technologically advanced than me.

Thanks for your help.

Can anyone give me some advice please? Really would like to upgrade without everything messing up.

Hi. I think I can help you.

This website has a list of compatible applications.

http://roaringapps.com/apps:table

Basically, type in any applications that are important to you, and run a search.
I've done some of the work for you :)

:D - Office works in ML! - :D

You can use the first link to search for any other apps you absolutely MUST have before you upgrade.

Cheers :) and happy upgrading!

Thanks! I don't really have any apps on my laptop except for some Nikon software and Office really. I was mainly worried about my external HDD and printer not working with it. However I have decided to upgrade so hopefully everything goes ok! Looking forward to messages and dictation :D
