Question about eBay purchase

Ok, I'm looking at this iPhone on ebay. The guy posted a pic and said that the phone only shows the iTunes icon and USB cable (pictured below). I have an iPod Touch but I jailbroke it a while back, so I'm not too sure what this means. If I bought the phone could I just enter DFU mode and pwn it? Or should I just not bother with it?

Edit: Those two phones look beat... not a good deal for $400 IMO plus they are actually stolen...

I have some skills...probably not enough to warrant the "z" though. And its been damn hard to find a pair of iPhones for less than 250 a pop (people don't know how to bid on eBay IMO).

How do you know they are stolen? Edit: Nevermind. I forgot what the seller put on the listing.
