I was checking on bestbuy.com the refurbished section for iMacs and read on the certification & listings of a particular model that it is not energy star certified..

I just had the impression that all Apple computers were certified. Could it be that the refurbished models from Best Buy use subpar parts that are not of the good quality of Apple and that's why there's a difference in the energy star?

Tbh, I never noticed if any Macs were energy star certified. I had to google around and it seems the MBP laptops are. I'm guessing the iMacs may not be for reasons that are beyond me

Ok I just wanted to know if the refurbished macs from other dealers use lower quality parts than apple's refurbished units.
