so I'm getting my brother a 3g iPhone to eventually be unlocked and used on t-mobils when the jailbreak software is released. My uncle is eligible for an upgrade so I'm going to have him buy it activate it then just deactivate it and switch his acct back to his old phone. My question is basically what, if any, issues would I run into? Does this seem like a relatively easy plan to execute. Any and all help is appreciated.

So why, exactly, are you going to spend real money to buy something that may or may not work in the future?

Just but a 1st generation phone somewhere and use that since it's proven to work and can be unlocked today. Why buy something that doesn't work right now and simply hope that it will eventually?

well for 1 my brother does a lot of traveling. And if it never gets jailbroken then there's always eBay where he can get some "real money" for it.

Is there anyone that can offer me some advice on this? Thanks
