I am think about buying my friend the $1099 MB without the great graphics card,do games run as good as on the MB as the MBP or is just worth it to get the MPB just for gaming:confused:

In all honesty, I don't think laptops are a good decision for gaming. Even with MXM and a the slim chance to upgrade other parts the costs don't meet the longevity.

I'm looking into a MacBook + self-built gaming rig right now.

True, I have been playing Call of Duty 4, and Unreal Tournament 3 on my MacBook Pro, and it's been running flawlessly. I highly doubt that a regular MB will be able to drive those games to this kind of capacity.

If you are looking a computer for gaming, MBP is the way to go.

Personally, I would recommend a desktop for gaming applications... the fans of the MBP's screams out while playing for a while..

this is like my best friend he save my ass, by fixing my brand new Ferrari F40, i flooded the engine, which would be no big deal, but on a Ferrari it is the worst thing you could do other then totaling it, so i own him and he does a lot of Mac/PC gaming thanks for the help

For light gaming, the macbook is fine. For higher-end gaming, the macbook pro is the better machine (for the price, too). But I agree with the above poster, if you want a gaming computer, build a desktop PC.

I'd try to wait for a MacBook update if possible. There's a chance of a video subsystem upgrade.

Pretty much anything is better then the GMA 950 that's currently used.

True, but I guess it depends on the games being played...
Oh everyone seems expect all the settings on high and any resolution.

I still find people that never touch the graphical options in a game ever though. I guess they like 640 x 480.

i think the macbook pro will be fine, he just plays World of warcraft and games on steam, like Counter-strike and Half-life 2
Consider the refurbished MacBook Pro at US$1,699.
