I had not backed my photos from photos on mac in a while (to google backup and sync) so I started google backup and sync and noticed that several files appeared in the trash. they had odd names like thumbnailnotRAW with a bunch of letter or numbers. or facetile. I looked in photos for mac, and all the photos that were in the trash were still in photos. I exported them to compared the information and it looked that the ones that were in the trash didn't have any of the meta data, but the ones in photos appeared normal with no problems. I have multiples external backups of my photos anyway.

1) Does anyone know what exactly happened?
2) should i copy the photos from a backup to my mac? (is this as simple as a drag and drop)
