Question about how MB Air charges battery

Hey,

I've just got a question about how the Macbook Air charges its battery - Basically what I'm trying to work out is - When you are using the Air on power through the Magsafe adapter and the battery is at 100% already, does it continue to use the battery anyway and therefore the battery is constantly charging?

Also, I've only had my MB air for a few days but it seems my battery doesn't last more than 3-4 hours on wireless web, I have calibrated it once too =/

The only reason I ask about how it charges is because I had an old Dell laptop a few years ago and I mainly used it on power and it worked this way - Even with the power plugged into the laptop it would always be using the battery still, and it used up the charge cycles really fast.

If anyone knows I'd appreciate it, cheers.

I'm pretty sure that it runs directly off of the power not the battery. I haven't looked anything up to be sure, but I run it plugged in a lot and I haven't noticed much drop in battery life from when I bought it 2 years ago.

This implies that the Macbook Air battery goes into 'rest' as long as the adapter is plugged in and the battery is already fully charged.

Thanks for linking that, this would definitely mean the battery goes inactive once it's on full charge and provided the power is still plugged in.
