About 10 yrs ago I setup my @icloud account to access iCloud and connected to my iPhone, iPad, etc. and have been using that same @icloud as an email account.

I’ve read recently the above setup is bad because I could technically be in trouble if my iCloud account was ever locked. This has never happened to-date.

Am I being overly paranoid? If the above is a potential issue what is a recommended solution as I still want to have some sort of email address that is @icloud.

Add another recovery email (i.e. uni email) and if possible, another phone number you trust (i.e. partner's, mum's, etc.) So that if you ever get locked out, you could use any of the recovery methods.
