I remember when the Catalina beta was released, Apple warned that it would convert your notes, reminders or some other things to a format that wasn't backward compatible in Mojave.

Does anyone know if this is the case with Big Sur as well?

I have Big Sur installed on a secondary machine that I don't use for my work, but I would like to sync all my contacts, notes, reminders, calendars, and other iCloud items — but only if it doesn't mess up my Catalina install on my main Mac.

I'm in the same boat - and would also like to know this. Bugs not withstanding, does logging into iCloud on Big Sur interfere with access for other iCloud devices running earlier than Big Sur/iOS 14?
