I got my iPad yesterday. Loving it, but it does get a bit tiring to hold it for more than 20 minutes. For those of you who have been using it for several weeks, have you built up muscles in your wrist or something that have made holding the iPad for prolonged periods easier? I'm just wondering if it will get easier to hold it for longer periods the longer I use it.

If 1.5lbs in 20 minutes is heavy... you need to work out, or find something to rest your elbows on.

It has nothing to do with it only being 1.5 lbs. Any weight that you must suspend in the air is going to feel heavy after an amount of time.

I generally just change how I hold the iPad every so often, or prop it up against anything I can.

I damn near never hold mine. Drop the $40 for the official apple case and just sit it on your leg, knee, or the desk. It props up in multiple ways.

Right now I'm sitting back on the couch and it's on my thigh...it's like the effin commercial! Wow :D

+1

Surfing safari with my iPhone while in bed used to make my arms hurt after awhile. It's a blood flow issue not muscle stamina.

Found it a lot easier to hold and grip with the official apple case. Part of the ~heaviness~ was the slipperiness and awkward holding of the naked iPad.

I highly recommend the Apple iPad case.

I highly recommend the Belkin Grip Vue. As the name implies, it helps you get a better grip.

I'm so glad I've been working out with those liquid based, glass bottle 16oz weights every night for the last few weeks. *hick-up* :)

I would like to get to that point in my work out, but for now my trainer has me doing 12 ounce curls. It must be really working my muscles because after doing a ton of reps, I can barely hold up the iPad any more, and feel like I am gonna constantly drop it.
