I apologize if this has already been discussed but I could not find the answer...
I will be a new iphone owner in mid-July when my current Verizon contract expires. Truthfully, I am upset to be leaving Verizon as they have been very good to me over the years, and I have NEVER had a dropped call or coverage issue.
That said, I have been craving an iphone since day one. I was always hoping Verizon would come on board, but I can't wait any longer. I am a little worried from all the horror stories I read here about AT&T but I am going to roll the dice and spring for 2 iphones (one for my wife too).
Sorry, I digress...
Anyway, What I wanted to know is this...
If I wanted to charge my iphone nightly at my bedside, yet keep the usb/dock plugged into my computer, do I need to buy another cable other than what is included in the box?
I don't want to be unplugging the usb cable from my desktop each night, move it to my bedroom, and plug it in, only to reverse the process when I connect to the desktop again the next day or whenever.
Same for my wife...
BUT, my wife has a 5th generation ipod (I think it's 5th generation, it is model A1136). Can we use that usb cable in any way to help us out? Or is it a different cable? I was thinking she could use her old ipod cable to connect her iphone (yes, she has her own computer), and her new iphone cable to connect bedside. Then I would only have to buy one additional USB cable (for me) if i am understanding the packaging correctly.
Sorry if this is somewhat confusing.
Thank you in advance. I am looking forward to joining you as an iphone owner in 36 days, but who's counting...
