Question about iPhone Sim Free on a new iPhone

Hopefully some of the guru's will be able to answer this.
I am thinking of getting a new iPhone however, it will most likely have the 1.1.2 firmware.
Question is.
If it has 1.1.2. Can I Shift+Click and restore to downgrade it to 1.1.1 firmware so I can unlock with simfree and run a tmobile pay as you go SIM?
Is this possible?

At the moment no, although if you did downgrade to 1.1.1 it turns your iphone into a ipod touch basically(useless since it looks like you have a ipod touch). Give it a couple days there should be a breakthrough from the dev team.

Basically when you buy your iphone from the apple store in person, you pay for the phone but you do not sign the contract until you activate your iphone on your computer(through itunes). Therefore you can buy it but not be tied to a network, and wait for the unlock to come out.

I know that downgrading a OTB 1.1.2 to 1.0.2 can unlock the phone to use pre pay cards on it. Although its better to wait for a full unlock.

I too have a UK iPhone 1.1.2. I currently have it downgraded to 1.1.1 and using it as a iTouch. I have read on this forum that by downgrading it further to 1.0.2, I would be able to use the iPhone features with an O2 sim card? Is this correct, and if so, please provide a simple step by step idiots guide on how to do this....thank you!

(tried a few methods but found them too confusing)
