I have a first generation ipod nano. I love the size and would like a new nano but can't afford it and even if I could I would rather pay rent. In any case, i was wondering if there is a way to set the ipod to repeat one song BUT be able to simply click next to go to the next song on the album/playlist.
Right now all it does is repeat a song and to go to the next one I have to go back to the menu and then select the next song I want. It is troublesome especially when listening to it in class/in the computer lab or when I am dozing off to sleep with a relaxing tune. Then i have to wake back up and stare at the blinding bright screen in the dark to select a different song, then try to doze asleep again when I could just click next song as I normally would without much effort.
It annoys me greatly there is no rapid way to progress to a new song while it is set to repeat. All i want is for it to repeat one song on its own without me touching it but i can switch to the next at a moment's notice.

I am wondering if there is some setting I am missing or something I can change by altering/adding a file to the ipod, etc. If this is not possible then I feel Apple has left out a very convenient option and it is a shame they did not include it. As I see it, who would want to click next song to get back to the start while its set to "repeat one" when we normally click previous to restart the song and double click it to go back a song?
