Hi,

I have a Imac 27inch, mid 2011. I was wondering if the LaCie Rugged 2Tb, thunderbolt, usb-c would
be compatible with my mac. I know this is total newb question... Any help greatly appreciated.
I just ordered one of ebay, without realizing that it may not be compatible, and there may still be time
to cancel my order. I believe I have 2 thunderbolt 1 ports...

Thanks VERY much....

You should be ok with Apple’s Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter

The key is that you’re connecting a thunderbolt device to a thunderbolt port. You’ll need a male-male Thunderbolt cable too.
Thanks very much! Is that the exact product I would need? BTW, Id be using the HD to install Windows 10...there shouldnt be a problem with this, right?

I sincerely believe so. I have one and I’ve used it to connect my 2016 MacBook Pro to a thunderbolt hard drive. I amp retry sure it’ll “adapt” on the hard drive end too.

If you have USB type A ports on your iMac you should also be able to connect the drive with the included USB A-C cable. Both included USB cables (A and C) are plug-in cables ... I think the Thunderbolt cable is non-removable on this model but stores in a channel around the enclosure.

The hard disk drive transfer rate should be the same with any of the interfaces.

Yes.

Yes. That’s much better than what I suggested. Thank you.
