Question about launchpad

This is probably a stupid question. how do you delete things off of the launchpad? i tried to google it and couldn't find anything. Also, are you guys getting any use out of it? I'm really not seeing the point to launchpad but maybe its just me.

My launchpad holds frequently used non-running apps, while the dock shows only currently running apps.

1. empty folder completely
2. drag any app into folder
3. drag the app out of folder
4. folder disappears

that worked thanks. they might wanna consider an easier way to delete stuff from the launchpad.

It's gonna be exactly the same way as it is currently on iOS: click and hold until the icon wiggles.
