Recently we ordered an iPhone 8 from Apple that was sent to us via UPS that was never delivered to us. We live in rural AK so UPS shipments don't arrive on the date they're supposed to be delivered and we don't ever sign for them, the airline that ships them does at the time it's supposed to be delivered according to UPS, I'm told it's signed for at Anchorage. It may take anywhere from a few days to a couple weeks for a UPS shipment to arrive after being signed for by the airline.
Well, 9 days after it showed as being signed for by the airline, we called the people that takes care of the final shipping about it and we were told that it left on the morning flight but, when the plane arrived the iPhone wasn't on there. We had a couple other UPS boxes on there and the local agent seen my son take them but neither were from Apple. We asked both the local agent and the airline that ships UPS to here about it and neither said they had it.
So, my question is before contacting Apple to see if we can get another phone at no charge to us is, is there a way to see if anyone stole it and is using it right now? I know we would need to activate it with Apple during the setup. Would Apple divulge info on the phone we bought if someone else activated it?
TIA
