Hey everyone, I have a question about the .mac email adress. I recently remembered that i created the .mac email adress back in the days, but never used it, but i have recently recovered it and plan on using it right now as it seems like a cool thing to have :p anyway I was just wondering if it is somehow possible to use it? Whenever I try to enable mail on icloud it says I need to create a me.com adress.

THanks in advance

the .Mac address was auto converted to a ME address. So if you have bob@mac.com. You also have bob@me.com. The only time i know of when not true is if you expired the .Mac and someone signed up the Bob@me.com.

Sending stuff to .Mac still works. Logging into the Itines or App store with .mac still works. But not so with iCloud. Just enter bob@me.com for iCloud and it will convert your .Mac to a @Me login, or so I believe anyway.

I have an @mac emaill address, and everything still works as it always did. I log in to iCloud with my @mac address on all my devices and it works.

The only problem I'm having is that I can't view webmail on iCloud. It tells me I need an @me address, which I already do as it's the same as the @mac address only with @me instead. Not sure if this problem is related or not.

IIRC or if I understand what they did during the .mac/MobileMe transition, @mac.com is the same as @me.com meaning if you can't sign in with your @mac.com address, @me.com should work and it should have all your e-mails. Like someone said above, if you have a user@mac.com address, you also have a user@me.com.

I don't think you understand our answers. :p :)

The system treats both @mac and @me in the same way. There are no separate logins or separate places to check; it's all one in the same. If you send and email to both you@mac.com and you@me.com, they both go to your one and only inbox. You can log in to iCloud.com with either address, they go into the same account.

If you want emails that you send to have the From: field say your @mac address, then enter your @mac address for the login information on the devices that you set up to use iCloud.

Are you still having trouble? I had some issues with getting things configure on both my iPhone and my Mac, but over time they did some auto-configuring in the background (not sure how I feel about this, but what choice do we have?) and now those things work. Just wondering if anything started working for you.

I still can't load the web version of iCloud Mail, no matter whether I log in using @mac or @me. It works fine on all my devices logged in using @mac.

I tried to setup icloud using my @mac id, but it won't reactivate the email.

I tried to setup icloud using @me id but the same issue happens.
I sent an email to @me or @mac, I get a return email saying it is undeliverable.

What should I do now to use the email service of icloud?

I really don't know what to do. I registered my .mac adress with icloud and with that icloud account i registered a seperate me.com email adress for mail. Now i cant freaking change that, or delete it , or do anything with it lol.

All I want is to send and recieve emails with my .mac email adress.. how difficult can that be??
