I'd really like to avoid installing Windows on my new MacBook, and I'm wondering what games would run well on my new 2.4ghz machine.

I'm thinking Age of Empires III and Tiger Woods 2008.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

What kind of games to you prefer? I imagine AOE, Warcraft 3 and most Mac native games should run fine but don't hold me to that until you get some responses from those who are gaming on a MacBook.

What kind of 2.4ghz machine? If it's an iMac

Warcraft runs good, Spore runs pretty good, World of Goo is great, Civ IV is good, Worms is good (nostalgic), Need for speed carbon runs good. <<These games are on the highest visual settings possible.

Command and Conquer runs pretty good, on medium to high settings.

And if you can find a torrent version of Kane's Wrath (they never released it for mac, so somebody cider'd a windows version) This game works perfect on all settings, he did a better job than EA did.

It's a new 2.4 ghz MacBook w/ 2gigs of RAM.

I like Tiger Woods and RPGs, but I'm open to any modern game that runs well natively on OSX.

I'm not a big gamer, but I'd like to play a bit at home and while traveling.

Thanks!

Your new MacBook should run just about anything you throw at it - albeit, probably not with high settings for brand new games, but the two you listed should be fine. The new MacBooks are far more capable gaming machines than those of the last revision.

Quake Wars and BF2142 but I dont know if your card can handle those.

Most games can run so so via CIDER and Crossover Games (WINE).

Also all the Blizzard games will run - Sim City 4 (I hear its a bad port though), etc.
