Do all of the 2006 model mac mini models use the same type of hard drive? Would a hard drive pulled from a 1.5 core solo work in a 1.83 core 2 duo mac mini model?

In System Profiler what model disks do you see included in each Mac Mini?

System Profiler can be accessed by going to the command menu (has Apple symbol on it) > About This Mac > More Info.

my answer to you is your 1.5 mac mini may have a ide/pata drive.

your 1.83 has a sata drive. give a minute to check some links.

according to wiki the early 2006 1.5 core solo was the first intel mac mini and has a sata drive. link

so if you have an early intel core solo 1.5 it is sata and the 1.83 is sata for sure. so your answer is yes they will fit each other. here is a video

it should be the same for both machines.
