philipma1957 macrumors 603 Apr 13, 2010 6,429 308 Howell, New Jersey Mar 7, 2011 #3 my answer to you is your 1.5 mac mini may have a ide/pata drive. your 1.83 has a sata drive. give a minute to check some links. according to wiki the early 2006 1.5 core solo was the first intel mac mini and has a sata drive. link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_mini so if you have an early intel core solo 1.5 it is sata and the 1.83 is sata for sure. so your answer is yes they will fit each other. here is a video http://eshop.macsales.com/installvideos/mac_mini_06-08/ it should be the same for both machines.
