i cant seem to find a good email service. im finally geting rid of AOL and getting roadrunner cable. the only thing i really liked about AOL is the intergrated email in the tool bar. is .mac similar where its intergrated with my computer like everyother apple program?

also is there a email size limit?

and how is the interface? easy to use?

sorry for all the questions, for $100 i need to make sure its good to justify the price.

well you need to learn the mac of pop3 so you can use apples mail.app

If you want a cheap hosting option look at www.1and1.com , they offer a hosting package with an email server to use that is comaptible with mail.app you also get all the benefits of a webgui to log into and a good amount of service for free

ok in that case how do i use mail.app? can i use it with my existing yahoo account? will mail.app make my email more intergrated with the computer?

see on my girlfriends dell, as soon as you go to the acct login screen, it shows any unread email. is there any program like that for macs? something where i dont have to go to a web site to view my emails?

--Yes, Mail

--I haven't used aol for sometime now, but the intergration with every app on the mac is flawless.

--Around 4mb, I think.

Umm, If a 10 year old can't get this then they should never pick up a computer again. Yes it's very easy.

.mac is worth every penny. 100MB of storage to load family photos to show family and friends. iSync, backs up all your info for mail address book, to the web to other macs to the ipod and more. Back up is one of the best and easiest backup apps out there. To be honest, .mac makes the mac switch so much easier.

You can use it with your yahoo account, but you have to pay extra for it. You can access Yahoo mail through the web for free, but for POP access, they charge. It was once free.

If you are interested in a .mac account, it will work flawlessly with the Mail program. Just go into Mail>Preferences>Accounts. Choose account type as .mac and fill in the fields.

Plus with .mac, you get a bunch of other benefits.
